Our samskritam education, under the guidance of Sringeri Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswami, is modelled based on the same paddati as the samskrita gurukula in the Sringeri Sharada Peetham.
Girls begin learning shastriya samskritam at a young age (ideally starting at 6 years of age.
This helps their brain development in the following ways:
1. GURUKULA VASA
– Emphasis on traditional bharatiya immersive lifestyle.
– Regular sessions on dharma shastram and Stree dharma
– Highly phone and gadget restricted environment.
– Under watchful care of caretakers at all times, especially during online classes involving computers etc.
– Dedicated LIBRARY TIME at Ubhayabharati Granthalaya
– Nitya Karma Anushtanam, Nitya Go Pooja and Nitya Deva pooja
2. KALA: Several bharatiya arts and skills are being taught:
– Shastriya Sangeetham and Shastriya narthanam for 8 hours a week.
– Veenai: 2 hours per week
– Harikatha: Weekly session
– Workshops: Arts & Crafts, Kolam, garland making, painting, jewellery making, etc.
3. YOGA + KREEDA
– Periodic instruction in ashtanga yoga
– Sampradaya-based kreeda (sport) on a daily basis.
4. SEVA:
– The girls learn to perform daily chores for themselves and for the gurukulam.
– They will soon learn to cook and serve food traditionally.
– They maintain a home garden (Krishi).
